It was the look on her face at the very end that made him pause and think he had said something wrong. He tried to backtrack over what he had just said, but nothing he could remember saying seemed like it would have made her uncomfortable.
He needed to ask someone how this worked, what things you were supposed to say. He wouldn't want to know Andrew's take on the situation, not really, but it might be nice to get one of the other personalities he had been back into his head at least long enough to see what -they- would do.
He had mostly been sent out on romantic engagements, after all, so most of his memories of his engagements involved -some- kind of physical affection. But he could also tell, somehow, that most of that affection was not something he really wanted to do with Juliet, not now. Not until he understood, until he was complicated.
"I will go now, Juliet," Quebec said softly. "I will see you later."
He hesitated a moment longer, then turned and began slowly to walk away.
He was going to find someone to ask for advice, to tell him how this worked, or at least to tell him how to stop being so nervous around her.

[/i] brim in her heart. She had done something good today, she knew it… even if she had probably confused the man she had done that something good to. Maybe Juliet was destined to stay with the dolls… or maybe she was destined to do something different with her life. She was only just starting her life anew, literally. The young woman unrolled the paper and looked at the sun then at the two figures. Yet another smile crept up onto her face.[/ul]
