Diary of Adelle DeWitt
It was an odd choice for Adelle to start keeping a diary. She never imagined that she would be the type to record her life. Or have a role in the future worthy of a record. Her diary isn't for penance. It is not for notoriety. It's simply history.

Actions have consequences. She thought to herself when she handed over Topher's schematics. She wondered what kind of consequences this action would have. Never a firm believer in the chaos theory, she never thought that simply deciding something would create two different outcomes, but as a scientist she is a firm believer of cause and effect.
In this case she started to spiral through all the consequences of giving Harding what Topher had confidently shared with her. The immediate effect would be that Harding would give her back her office and the little dignity she had. The long effects involved losing Topher's trust and possibly destroying all of civilization.
She'd slapped him today. Who's to say what effects that action would have. If the world was destroyed it wouldn't matter. Harding would do what he wanted. He had the ambition. All Adelle could do was take control of her house and let the dominoes fall.

They thought the mainframe was destroyed that with the destruction of Rossum Headquarters, the tech would seize to function and without the use of the mainframe, Rossum wouldn't be able to maintain their hold on the world. They were wrong. While they suceeded in neutralizing both Boyd and Clyde and threats. They forgot two important risk factors: Clive Ambrose and Matthew Harding. Together the two shared more ambition then one could ever think possible, and they weren't nearly as stupid as their counterpart. These two promptly backed themselves up after giving themselves full anatomy upgrades.
In retrospect, Adelle saw the oversight as stupid. Of course she knew that Ambrose was already looking for a new body that wasn't allergic to shellfish. That as why wen Boyd had killed him she'd sent him off, but she now regretted not destroying all the programs that day at The Center. With the combined will of Mr. Ambrose and Mr. Harding the tech was up an running inside a year. Thn another six months before practical application was put fourth. Adelle remembered the fear she felt as the story of robocalls in New York and Chicago broke the headlines. She felt a tightness in her chest and a unnerving desire to jump out of her office window, but only for a brief moment.
Then she called security. Ordering them to start cutting the connections to the Dollhouse. When she was done with that call she hung up the phone and began securing her office. She imagined that other major cities would be among the first targets of the Rossum corporation, and on the west coast she was sure Los Angeles would be one of them.
Her phone rang. And rang. And rang. She refused to answer. Afraid of becoming like he few people she'd seen on the news. Somehow she worried the call was simply someone from downstairs and she answered it...
The next thing she knew she was waking up in the imprint chair with Topher and Echo standing next to her. They explained about the robocall. That she'd been wiped but they put her original self back. Fortnately her last memory backup wasn't too far behind. They were able to brush her up on the last few hours of evens. By the the house was completel locked down wth some access to her office remaining.
...And so it began.
