When an untimely tragedy brings together estranged twins it will forever change their lives and those of their closest friends. Attending the funeral of their young cousin and godson will reunite Jasper Whitlock and Rosalie Hale, twins who last saw each other almost six years prior. A meddling, resentful mother, intercepted letters and a series of miscommunications had the pair thinking the other wanted nothing to do with them. Now reunited over the tragedy of loss suffered by their Aunt Esme, Jasper and Rosalie will began a journey of discovery and forgiveness.
Along for the ride are Emmett McCarty and Isabella "Bella" Swan, Jasper's best friends, and Mary Alice Brandon, Rosalie's closest confidant. Will the support of their friends help to bridge the gulf between the twins, allowing them to find their way back to the unbreakable bond they once shared? Or will fear, shame, guilt and jealousy doom their efforts and created a chasm so expansive it can never be crossed? And what will happen when Jasper and Rosalie develop feelings for Alice and Emmett? For years neither of them has felt worthy of being loved. Is it possible all they needed was the right person? What are the chances that they would befriend just the one who would complete their twin?
On a recent break from her boyfriend, Edward Masen, Bella chose to break from school and stay in the tiny town of Forks, Washington to help support Jasper in his bid to reunite with his sister. Aside from clearly not being Rosalie's favorite person, Bella feels more than a little like a fifth wheel as Rosalie grows closer to Emmett and Jasper to Alice. That changes when Bella meets Jacob Black, a local from the nearby Quileute Indian Reservation. She finds herself greatly enjoying Jake's company, providing further motivation to stay in Forks. What will happen though when Edward comes looking for his girlfriend, hopeful to rekindle their relationship? Has Bella's broken heart healed thanks to Jacob's tender attention or is Edward's name still tattooed across her heart? Will she take Edward back or choose to stay with Jacob?
Meanwhile, Esme Everson must deal with the death of her young son. Will the support of her niece and nephew be enough or will the loss be more than she can bear? They say time heals all wounds but losing her son, the only positive thing to come out of an abusive marriage, added insult to injury. Now barely keeping her head above water, will Esme find salvation in family and friends or will she drown in sorrow?
Local doctor, Carlisle Cullen, was on duty when Esme's son was brought into the ER. Regretfully the boy was DOA. Losing a patient is never easy, especially a child, and in this case it was made all the more difficult when he met the grieving mother. For the first time in his career he experienced a deep, instant bond. Can Carlisle help Esme come to terms with her loss and show her that sometimes the risk of opening yourself will be rewarded?
Will Jasper and Rosalie come to terms with their shattered past? Can Alice and Emmett make them see that they are worthy of love? Who will capture Bella's heart, Edward or Jacob? Will Esme find comfort in the arms of the handsome Dr. Carlisle Cullen? Can Carlisle save her from her grief? These questions and many more will be answered at Eclipsed Twilight.
